Art Tecniques – Activity Five

Paper Napkin Backgrounds

medium weight card-stock
Elmer’s glue  (white school glue)
sparklers (optional)
rubber stamps
napkins

1- use a craft foam brush to apply the white glue to the
card-stock and adhere the napkin to the card-stock
***  wrinkle the napkin or fold and crease before adhering
if you so choose

2- after the napkin and card-stock have dried, mix glue and
sparkles and apply to the top of dried napkin, let dry completely
3- rubber stamp the napkin as you choose and dry with heat gun
***  rubber stamp suggestions
- one or two images
- one with writing

4- since it can be rather messy – but loads and loads of fun
I suggest making several backgrounds at the same time

5- these pieces can also be used with paint – the rubber stamped
image will become a bit smeared – sometimes not – I call it
dreamy and find it adds to the composition of the piece.
